IMPLEMENTATION OF REACT METHOD TO IMPROVE STUDENT WRITING AT SMAN 1 GONDANG MOJOKERTO THROUGH DESCRIPTIVE TEXT

Abstract

The investigation occurred at SMAN 1 Gondang, Mojokerto, where the X-IPS 1 class was the experimental group and the X-MIPA 5 class as the control group. This research addressed the English vocabulary writing challenges faced by numerous students. This research focuses on the effectiveness of the REACT method in teaching descriptive text materials. This research employs a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental research design. Data gathering involved conducting Pre-Tests and Post-Tests for each of the research classes. The average scores for the experimental class (X-IPS 1) were 76.22857 for the Pre-Test and 84.25714 for the Post-Test, while for the control class (X-MIPA 5), the scores were 81.32353 for the Pre-Test and 83.91176 for the Post-Test. The result from the non-parametric test was (Sig) 0.160 > 0.05, leading to the rejection of the hypothesis and confirming that no significant difference exists between the two groups.
