The EFFECTIVENESS OF UTILIZING CAKE APPLICATION IN SPEAKING ABILITY OF 10th STUDENTS AT SMK PGRI SOOKO

This research was conducted at SMK PGRI Sooko where there were students' problems in speaking English. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Cake application in students' speaking skills. The method used in this study is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design consisting of 2 classes as samples where the experimental class got treatment using the cake application while the control class uses the conventional method. The data was collected from oral test. The data obtained were analyzed by using indepent sample t-test in SPSS 16 and the t-test result presents that t count (2.171) was higher than the t table in the significance level (0.05) 1.725 also the value of (sig.) 2-tailed= 0.036<0.05. It can conclude that Cake application has significant effect on the students’speaking ability at the tenth grade of SMK PGRI Sooko.
